Scripture Lesson: Romans 10:11-12
On this date in 1995 Cal Ripken, Jr breaks Lou Gehrig’s consecutive game record by playing in his 2,131st consecutive game. When the game becomes official in the middle of the fifth inning, Ripken takes a victory lap around Camden Yards during a 22 minute standing ovation. In a time when baseball needed a hero, Cal Ripken stepped up to be a blessing for the game.
In today’s Scripture passage, Paul is telling the Roman Church that they are richly blessed when they call on the name of Jesus. What a wonderful truth for us today. Jesus is waiting to bless us when we call on Him. We can be blessed with meaning and purpose in life by the One who died for our sins. Jesus is standing by ready to pour out blessings upon blessings to us today. We are so blessed that He died for us, and we can experience eternal life. When we trust in Jesus blessings will come our way. To truly trust Him we have to give Him our lives to use as He wishes for the good of His Kingdom.
1. Why is it hard to give Jesus every part of our lives?
2. How has Jesus blessed you?
3. When is the last time you prayed and asked Jesus to take your life and use it for Him?
When the world needed a Savior, Jesus stepped up to be an eternal blessing for all of us!
