Scripture Lesson: Acts 22:12-16
Today is the birthday of Minnesota Twins closer, Matt Capps. Matt has a way to witness for Christ that he has done since Minor League days. After he finishes his warm up pitches and the ball is thrown around the infield. Matt takes the throw from the third baseman, steps off the back of the mound, takes off his cap, and prays. Matt does not pray to win, he prays for God to get the glory. This simple act of devotion to God serves as a powerful witness for everyone to see at the ball parks and on television. This is his way to share his love for God and what God has done for him. Way to go Cappy!
In today’s Scripture lesson Paul is sharing his testimony and witness to the crowds in Jerusalem of what God has done for him. Paul talks about his conversion on the Damascus road and how Christ commissioned him to share the Gospel with the Gentiles. Paul was bold and not ashamed when he shared his faith. That is the way Paul always shared, Christ first and Christ exalted! Throughout the book of Acts and in his letters to the early churches, Paul always shares his faith and his story of what Jesus had done for him.
1. How can you use your platform as a player or coach to share your faith?
2. Why is it important to share what Jesus has done for you?
3. Name some ways you can share your faith.
God places us in life where we can serve Him best. Sharing our witness is a way we can serve Him, reaching others for his Kingdom.
