October 8-Perfect Game

Scripture Lesson: Psalm 18:30

On this date in 1956, New York Yankee pitcher Don Larsen pitches the only perfect game in World Series history defeating the Brooklyn Dodgers 2-0. Losing pitcher Sal Maglie gives up only two hits.

Our verse today is a great reminder from the book of Psalms. God’s way is perfect and His Word is flawless. Sometimes in life we think we know better, yes even better than God, because we will follow our own way. We often times believe that we know the best way for us to live our lives. Haven’t you noticed that when we try to go our way instead of going God’s way we only make a mess of life. God’s way is the only perfect way for us to find peace and contentment in life. When we live by His Word and strive to allow Him to lead our lives, life is indeed much better to live.

1. Describe a time that you decided to live life your way.

2. Describe a time that you decided to live life God’s way.

3. What were the differences between the two?

Larsen’s perfect game in the World Series has never been duplicated. God’s perfect plan for our lives can only be followed not amended!
