October 3-Doing it All
Scripture Lesson: Revelation 1:8
On this date in 1920, in a 16-7 victory over the White sox, Browns first baseman George Sisler gets his 257th hit of the season to set a Major League record. He also pitched a scoreless 9th inning in relief for St. Louis. The hits record would stand until 2004 when Mariners right fielder Ichiro Suzuki gets hit number 258.
Our Scripture lesson today reminds us of the awesomeness of God! God is the beginning and the end, Alpha is the beginning of the Greek alphabet and Omega is the end. He is who is and was and who is to come! God is the Almighty. God was before the world came into existence at His command. God will always be the same Almighty Loving Heavenly Father. He has indeed done it all for us. As we reflect on God’s awesomeness and all He has done for us, we must ask ourselves a very important question. What have we done for God?
1. Describe in your own words the awesomeness of God.
2. What are some ways we can serve God on and off the field?
3. Reflect for a few moments on all God has done for you.
George Sisler had a pretty good day setting the single season hits record and pitching a scoreless 9th. God always has a pretty good day because no one can compare to the Awesome Almighty All-Loving Father! Praise Him by living for Him each day!
