October 29-Long Life
Scripture Lesson: Psalm 90:14
On this date in 2006 Silas Simmons, the oldest baseball player who ever lived, passed away at the St. Petersburg Westminister Sun Coast Retirement Community in Florida. The 111 year old was a left handed pitcher in the Negro Leagues for 17 years and played for the Homestead Grays, The New York Lincoln Giants and the Cuban All-Stars.
The Psalmist is reminding us of how we should live our lives each day. We need to realize that God has His unfailing love for us each day and we should rejoice and be glad for all He has and will do for us all the days of our lives. God has always and will always be there for His children with a love that is indescribable and never failing. We should all take time to thank God for loving us all the days of our lives that total and complete way!
1. Describe God’s unfailing love.
2. Why should that kind of love make us rejoice?
3. Thank God right now for his unfailing love that is there for us each and every day.
None of us are ever worthy of God’s unfailing love in our own sense. We are made worthy because He love us!
