Scripture Lesson: Philippians 1:15-18

The Golden Glove Award is given annually to the best defender at each position in both the American and National Leagues. On this date in 2008, extending a Major League record, pitcher Greg Maddux captures his 18th Golden Glove. The 18 were two more than former Orioles’ third baseman Brooks Robinson and 26 year veteran pitcher Jim Kaat won in their careers.

If there was a Gold Glove for the defense of the Gospel, the first winner would have to have been the Apostle Paul. In our Scripture lesson today Paul is writing from a jail cell in Rome to the Church at Philippi. Paul is in jail because of his defense of the Gospel and all that matters to him is that Christ is preached. Can’t you just imagine Paul telling his jailers all about Jesus and anyone else who would listen to him? It gave Paul great joy to share the story of Jesus.

1.      Who are some of the Gold Glove winners in faith in your life?
2.      What can you learn from the way they live?
3.      When is the last time you shared your faith? How did it make you feel?

When we stand up for Jesus tough times may come, but we can be reassured that He will always be with us. Until all believe, we must tell the world about Jesus by what we say and how we live!

Amazon Verified Purchase() This review is from: Let me first say that I love fisreglens gloves & have been looking for a leather or leather-like pair for some time with no luck. I am female & my ring size is only 4 1/2 so my hands are small but not freakishly small. Based on the price & some reviews saying they run small, I thought I'd give it a shot. Unfortunately, even the extra small is ridiculously big on me. It would be quite helpful if the seller provided better & more detailed sizing info but until then, if your hands are on the small side, these aren't for you.
