Scripture Lesson: Psalm 52:8-9
On this date in 1980, Japan’s all-time Home run leader, Sadaharu Oh retires from professional baseball. The Tokyo Yamiuri Giant first baseman hit a record 868 home runs in his 22 year playing career. Oh was indeed a national hero that flourished in the game.
The Psalmist compares himself to a flourishing olive tree in the House of God. A flourishing tree will be one that produces a great deal of fruit. The Psalmist is able to produce fruit for God because he trusts in God’s unfailing love and he has his hope in God. This makes him praise god for all He has done!
1. How can we flourish with God?
2. What does it mean to trust in God’s unfailing love?
3. How can we praise God and produce fruit for Him?
For us to flourish with God we need to be sold out completely to God giving Him our best as we live for Him each day! It is time to trust, obey, and praise Him!
