Scripture Lesson: Luke 24:36-39

On this date in 1938, Monty Stratton has his right leg amputated as a result of a hunting accident in Greenville, Texas. The White sox pitcher’s attempted comeback is chronicled in the 1949 movie, “The Monty Stratton Story” starring Jimmy Stewart and June Allison.

Today’s Scripture lesson reminds us of the greatest comeback in the history of the world. Jesus came back from the grave to live again. Even His closest followers thought they were seeing a ghost when He appeared to them after the resurrection. The tomb of Jesus is still empty today and He lives in heaven beside the Father. There is no greater comeback in history than when Jesus overcame death on that first glorious Easter morning!

1.      Why was Jesus’ comeback the greatest in history?
2.      What does that mean to you?
3.      How does Jesus’ comeback give you a hope for the future?

Praise God today for the greatest comeback in human history!
