November 13-Sharing

Scripture Lesson: Matthew 25:21

On this date in 1979 for the first time in Major League history two players share the National League Most Valuable Player Award. The National League winners are Willie Stargell of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Keith Hernandez of the New York Mets.

Jesus in His Parable of the Talents gives us a clue to how we can share in the happiness of God. In this parable a master goes on a journey entrusting 3 of his servants with varying amounts of money to take care of while he is gone according to their individual abilities. Two of the servants use their money to make more…they share in the master’s happiness while one is banished for not doing anything with his money. God gives to each of us abilities to serve Him. When we take what God has given us to serve Him, we can then share in His happiness!

1.      What has God given to you to serve Him?
2.      Are you investing that talent in His Kingdom’s work? Why or why not?
3.      Describe what it must feel like to share in God’s happiness.

Sharing a MVP award does not compare to sharing in God’s happiness, may we all serve Him with the talents He has blessed us with to make a difference for Him! When we do just that we share in His happiness!
