November 1-Few Chosen
Scripture Lesson: Matthew 22:1-14
On this date in 2010, Edgar Renteria joins Yankees legends Lou Gehrig, Joe Dimaggio, and Yogi Berra as only the fourth player in baseball history to collect two World Series winning hits. The Series MVP hits a three-run homer off Cliff Lee in the seventh inning leading the Giants to a 3-1 victory over the Texas Rangers.
Our Scripture lesson today is the parable of the Wedding Banquet. The king prepared a great banquet to celebrate the wedding of his son. He sent servants to remind the guests, but none of them would come. Each one had convenient excuses why they could not come. The king then filled the banquet with people from the streets. Someone not wearing wedding clothes was thrown out of the banquet, “many are invited, but few are chosen.”
God invites each of us to come to Him and accept His Son as our Lord and Savior. God wants us to experience the best He has, but yet we make excuses as to why we can’t follow God and live for Him. We miss out on so many blessings God is ready to pour out upon us because we say no to Him.
1. Why do we need to follow God?
2. What are the excuses we have made to God?
3. What is keeping us right now from getting right with God?
May we not let another day go by without fully committing ourselves to God and His plan for
