May 16: Brothers
Scripture Lesson: Psalm 133:1-3
On this date in 2006, a game between the Angels and the Blue Jays
featured two brothers, each playing catcher for his team. Both of the brothers
swiped a base off each other. Jose’s theft in the 4th inning was the
key to an Angel four-run inning. In the seventh inning, Blue Jays backstop
Bengie stole second base without drawing a throw from his older brother. The Angels
went on to an 8-3 victory in Anaheim.
There are blessings from God when brothers live together in unity.
It is important to remember that unity is not uniformity. We are not all
expected to be the same, because God created us to be different. Still, the
basics of our faith must be the same. That is unity. The term “brothers” is
used in this passage to describe believers in God. It is a blessing for
believers to have unity in the way they live for the Kingdom. I can imagine that
when we live in unity, it brings a smile to God’s face!
we blessed when there is unity?
we show unity in faith?
God for His blessings today!
Be grateful today that God has created us all to be different with
a common purpose, to love and serve Him!
