March 31: First Things First

Scripture Lesson: Matthew 6:31-33

This date in 1998 saw the first games played by the expansion Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Devil Rays lost to the Tigers 11-6 as Wade Boggs hit the first home run for the franchise. The Colorado Rockies defeated the Diamondbacks 7-2, as Travis Lee hit the first home run for the franchise.

Jesus’ words for us today are from the Sermon on the Mount. Basically, Jesus is telling us to put first things first. God will provide for our needs when we seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness. When we look to God first and when we seek Him with all our hearts, He is there for us! When we want more than anything else in the world to live in His ways, not only will we find His way, we will have our needs met. The key to successful Christian living is putting first things first, His Kingdom and His righteousness!

  1. What is the most important thing in our lives?

  2. How much effort do we put in daily in putting first things first?

  3. What changes do we need to make in our lives to first seek His Kingdom and righteousness?

If we are serious about following God, we must be serious about putting first things first!

Hmm, indeed with this and six raeosns why young people leave the church post also, but my question is how to focus on the right things(sometimes I ask myself if really right too) and don't leave church?Everything just seems confusing to me, the darker world is just what I see and live at everyday, do I need live with that or change it?What am I supposed to do for don't be influenced by all of that then try to focus on something else?Sorry about having many questions, but I needed ask by some way
