22: My Favorite Baseball Player
Scripture Lesson: Psalm 127:3
Today is the birthday of my all-time favorite baseball player, my
son John Daly. John has brought so much joy to my life as I have watched him
grow up and have been blessed to share the great game of baseball with him.
Some of the very best times in my life have been spent playing catch with John,
watching him play, and going to a game with him. His playing career ended with
high school, but now he is a baseball coach impacting the lives of his players.
One of God’s greatest blessings in my life is my son whom I love very much.
The Psalmist in our verse for today describes sons as a heritage
from the Lord, and children as a reward. The challenge for today, if you are a
dad, is to take time for your children. If possible, why not play a little
catch in the back yard? Pause and thank God today for the blessings of your
family. If you are a son, ask your dad to play catch. Spend some time with him
today. The greatest gift we can give is the gift of ourselves.
blessing to your family today.
some time with your dad or your son today.
God for the blessings of family.
Happy Birthday son, and thank you for all the wonderful memories we
have shared through the game of baseball.
