Scripture Lesson: Hebrews 1:1-2

On this date in 1929, the New York Giants became the first team to use a public address announcer. The new innovation helped baseball fans to be more informed during the course of the game, enabling them to follow the game more closely.

The writer of Hebrews wrote of how God has informed us through the ages. First, God spoke to His people by the voice of the prophets. God later spoke with a voice that superseded the prophets, however, the voice of God’s Son, Jesus. For us to know what God wants of us, we must take every opportunity to learn more about Jesus by studying Scripture. Jesus’ teachings can and will guide our daily living if we allow them to do so. We need to know as much as we can about Jesus and what He wants us to do each day to live more like Him. The more we study the Word, the more we will be in tune with the message God has for us through His Son.

  1. How much time do we spend learning about Jesus?

  2. What do you think God is saying to us through His Word?

  3. What does it take to know what God is trying to say to us in how to live for Him each day?

God does not have a public address announcer to inform us of what we can do to live for Him. Thank Him today that He has given us His Son and His Word to do just that!

I often believe that I have been such a diptepoinamsnt. But, know that when God sees me he sees Jesus. But, here is what I often think about. If God sees Jesus who died for all of our sins, what does Jesus see when he looks down on earth. I try so very hard to be a good person and when I try really hard, I fail. But, when I run to Jesus to say I am sorry, he holds out his arms takes me into a tight hug and tells me it is okay. Go try again but, let me help you. Each day is better than the day before.
