FCA Baseball Announces the So. Cal. Catch Collegiate Team

CatchFCA Baseball is excited to announce that it will field it's second summer collegiate baseball team in 2013. The So. Cal. Catch will be run out of the Southern California Baseball Division of FCA and is looking to join the California Collegiate League, the premier league for college summer baseball in Southern California. The Catch will field mostly Division 1 talent from across the nation and will also take part in an extensive sports ministry training curriculum. The team name and mission was inspired from the Bible in the book of Luke chapter 5:10-11.

“Don’t be afraid,” Jesus told Simon. “From now on you will be catching people!" Then they brought the boats to land, left everything, and followed Him.

FCA So Cal. Catch Team Mission
To see collegiate baseball players impacted for Jesus Christ and trained in sports ministry as they are given the opportunity to play in a competitive team environment.

We want to create an opportunity for collegiate baseball players to further develop their baseball skills and offer them an opportunity to do this in a highly competitive summer collegiate league. More importantly we want that environment to be one that will help them grow in their relationship with the Lord. We want to train them up as sports ministers so that when they are deployed to their college teams, and then later given the chance to play professional baseball they will be lights for the Lord in the world of baseball. Just as Jesus was training his disciples to go out and catch men we are catching and discipling these young men so that they will go and do the same wherever God leads them.
