Scripture Lesson: Proverbs 19:1

On this date in 2008 the Dodgers confirmed they have inked their current shortstop, Rafael Furcal to a three year deal. Braves President John Schuerholz, who believed he had an agreement in place to sign the 33 year old infielder earlier in the week. He described the Dodgers negotiation process as dishonest and said his team would never again deal with the Dodgers as long as the current ownership was in charge. Furcal never reached the same level of play with the Dodgers that he had enjoyed with the Braves.

It is better to be a poor man who lives the right way than a fool who does not tell the truth. Our word should be able to be counted on as being right. There is no room in the life of a believer for dishonest words or actions! The writer of Proverbs, once again, show us his wisdom and the right way for us to live in this world!

1.      How is our walk with the Lord today?
2.      What does it mean to have perverse lips?
3.      Why is it so important to have honesty and integrity in our lives?

Doing the right thing the right way is not always easy, but it is always the right thing to do in living for God!
