April 11-Greatest Year

April 11-Greatest Year

April 11: Greatest Year

Scripture Lesson: Psalm 43:3-4

On this date in 1917, Babe Ruth defeated the New York Yankees by pitching a three-hitter in a 10-3 win for the Red Sox. Ruth was on the way to a 24-13 record and a league leading 35 complete games in his best year as a pitcher.

In today’s text, the Psalmist provides the key for having a great year. We need to allow the light and truth of God to direct our paths. God is waiting for us to let Him show us the way to live each day. He wants to direct us and show us the path we are to take: we have to just let Him! Why do we insist on doing things our way when God’s plan for our lives is indeed the perfect plan? We can have our best year as a believer when we allow God to show us the way. God will not take control of our lives until we give Him our lives to control!

  1. Why is it important for God to direct our lives?

  2. How do we let go and let God?

  3. What are the benefits of allowing God to direct our lives?

Praise God today for wanting to direct our lives and for giving us the opportunity to have the greatest year of our lives with Him.
